It will debut on Tuesday, June 7th.
Rally racing pro Ken Block shared a teaser video on his social media, previewing the new Ram spec which will debut next week. Block revealed little other information, except that the pickups will be open next Tuesday. Ram retweeted Block cheekily, with only the eyes emoji.
The video, which is black-and white, shows a Ram pickup carving doughnuts in dirt with a huge plume of dust billowing out into the air. It’s fitting for National Donut Day. It looks like a Ram 1500 TX. It is obvious by the exhaust note that can be heard in the video. The exhaust note can be heard through the loud V8 bellows. The video also reveals other details about the truck.
Ram was kind enough to let us know about the teaser. If the company replies, we’ll update this story. Block claims he was able to test Ram’s “newest tool” in the desert. Block will reportedly share more details about his dirt adventures as Ram unveils the new spec.
The hood is another sign this could be a TRX. It sports a large bulge flanked with vents. We are also able to see the large air scoop on the hood in the video. This makes us wonder exactly what Ram is planning.
The Ram 1500TRX is Ram’s off-roader equivalent to the Ford F-150 Raptor. Ram not only stuffed a Hellcat V8 into its hood but also upgraded the suspension with a wider track and Bilstein adaptive shock absorbers, new springs and more. Ram 1500 TRX is already a capable off-roader, Ram’s brawny equivalent to the Ford F-150 Raptor.
We won’t have long to wait to find out what Ram is up to. The new truck spec will be revealed Tuesday, June 9th at 12 p.m. ET (9 a.m PT). Ram can make the TRX even more spicy? Next week will be the final test.
