Block is the driving force behind this EV prototype.
It was inevitable. It was inevitable. The electric vehicle that was the most tire-slapping to emerge from Ford Performance and RTR had to meet with Ken Block, Ford’s head for tire slaying. The meeting happened sooner than expected and a video crew was present to capture the action behind the Mustang Mach-E 1400’s wheels.
The Hoonicorn is the engine. The Mach-1400 debut actually has seven motors. There are three in the front and four at the back. This arrangement gives you a wide range of power management options for various performance applications such as drifting, racing, and even just eating insane donuts. The Mach-E 1400 can actually switch the wheels to reverse on one side of a car, allowing for the most nausea-inducing automobile spin cycle. Unfortunately, this feature is not demonstrated in the video.
But, we can smell all types of tire smoke. Block tests the Mach-E1400 with Gittin Jr. as his passenger offering assistance. After a few practice runs behind the wheel, Block starts to rip aggressive powerlides like a pro. He is clearly impressed by the speed and torque. He mentions that noise is his biggest adjustment between Mach-E 1400 & the Hoonicorn. The intense screaming of electric motors doesn’t make any sound. Or, rather, it’s not the sound that usually accompany such powerful thrust.
