Ken Block’s Hoonicorn Drag Racing Ferrari F8 Tributo

Is there anything that can match the Hoonicorn’s?

The Ferrari supercar can match the Hoonicorn Mustang in drag racing. Hoonigan’s team has been looking for a car that could match the Hoonicorn Mustang during a drag race. But so far, no vehicle has even come close. Hoonigan beat out many other home-built race cars and turned to a Ferrari F8 Tributo in order to determine if this new Ferrari can compete.

The Hoonicorn was built specifically for the Gymkhana video series by Hoonigan. These incredible stunts are some of the most impressive ever seen in a car. Although the Hoonicorn looks like a Ford Mustang, it is actually an all-wheel-drive beast. The engine is a twin-turbo Roush V8 that produces over 1,400 horsepower (1043 Kilowatts). It is mated with a 6-speed sequential transmission. An all-wheel drive system, specifically designed for drifting and hooning, delivers power to the ground.

The Ferrari F8 Tributo can compete with a custom machine like the Hoonicorn. The F8’s twin-turbo V8 produces 710 horsepower (529 Kilowatts), and 567 lbft (768 Newton-meters) of torque. The V8 is coupled to a 7 speed dual-clutch automated transmission, which sends power to the rear wheels. The F8’s network of sensors and computers optimize grip and performance, ensuring that all 710 horses can reach the ground in the most efficient manner. Ferrari claims a 0-60 time of just 2.8 seconds and a top speed at 211 mph. This is faster than most cars in a race. But what about the Hoonicorn.

Straight-line speed wasn’t a priority when the Hoonicorn was constructed, but it doesn’t seem that this has stopped it from winning every drag race. It turns out that all-wheel drive, horsepower, and low-weight are key factors in beating other vehicles on the road.
