Kevin Hart’s Plymouth Roadrunner Restomod Nearly has Veyron Horsepower

The Roadrunner now comes with a lot of billet aluminum and carbon fiber parts.

Kevin Hart, comedian, is a big fan of American muscle cars. His latest addition is a 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner Restomod with 940 horsepower (701 Kilowatts) and a supercharged 426 cubic-inch (6.98 liter) V8. Salvaggio Design built the mean machine.

Hart’s Roadrunner rides on an original frame with new parts for floors, firewalls, radiator support, wheel tubs and trunk. There’s also an integrated roll cage. It is equipped with Detroit Speed & Engineering’s X-Gen595 front suspension system that integrates into the chassis.

Salvaggio refers to the V8 under the hood as a hybrid of a Demon engine and a Hellephant one. It has been overhauled internally, including new cranks, connecting rods and camshafts. The powerplant is topped with a Whipple 3.8-liter supercharger, finished in Orange Candy satin-finish paint. Dyno-verified, the 940-hp output.

The engine powers a Tremec 6060 six speed manual transmission. Rear axle has a 3.70 gear ratio.

Hart’s Roadrunner retains the overall look of the original but has many modifications to the body. Only the roof, doors and fenders are carried over from the donor car. The hood is made of carbon-fiber and has a scoop at the center. The flush-mounted bumpers made of carbon fiber are also available. The billet aluminum components of the three-piece grille and taillight surrounds, driver’s door mirror, and door handles now include billet aluminum components.

Three-piece billet hub caps are available that cover HRE wheels to keep the vintage look. Brembo brakes have six-piston calipers that clamp on 14-inch wheels at the front and four piston stoppers at the back.

A billet instrument cluster is located inside, which holds Dakota Digital gauges. The cabin is covered in black Italian leather, with some sections having an orange splatter effect.

Hart ordered a pair of Nike Air Max 90 sneakers custom-built for him, as well as a belt and wallet made from the same orange-splattered leather used in the cabin. These shoes have carbon-fiber pieces as well as aluminum Roadrunner badges.
