Kia Seltos Concepts Gives The Model A Off-Road Makeover These items won’t be available at your local Kia dealership. Two Seltos concepts are making their debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show, right after the Kia Seltos. They are the Seltos X-Line Trail Attack Concept (and the Seltos X-Line Urban Concept). They take Kia’s new crossover and add a variety of accessories and aftermarket parts. The X-Line Trail Attack gives this crossover an off-road edge thanks to a 2-inch lift that gives it 9.2 inches of ground clearance. The crossover comes with an all-wheel drive system and a central differential lock. Rubber wraps are used to protect the wheels from off-road conditions. A winch is hidden behind the front valance, and a custom-made roof rack adds storage. The off-road look is completed by eight Hella auxiliary lights mounted on the roof and bumper. Many of the same upgrades are available in the Urban concept, including 17-inch custom-painted wheels, this time painted with gold, a 2-inch lift and AWD. It has half the amount of auxiliary lights as well as a roof rack. Both models have tinted windows. The Kia concepts are powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that produces 175 horsepower (130kW) and 195 poundfeet (226 Nm) of torque. It is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch auto. This is the same engine that will be available in the 2021 Kia Seltos. Standard mill has a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine that produces 146 horsepower (109 kW) in production. We can’t see through the tinted windows of the concepts. We do know that the production version has a 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment screen. It comes with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and satellite navigation. There is also an optional Bose eight-speaker audio system. Other features include forward collision assistance, lane departure warning and smart cruise control with stop/and-go function. The production Seltos will be available at dealers in the next year. It will cost less than $22,000 and be available in five trim levels, starting at the LX model. Urban Concepts and X-Line Trail Attack are not available in the three other trims. Sorry.
