Kia Teases its 13th Super Bowl Ad with All-Electric EV6, Robot Dog

The automaker also has partnered with Petfinder Foundation.

The Super Bowl LVI will be held in a few weeks and automakers have begun the hype train to promote their expensive advertisements. Kia released the first teaser of its commercial, which will air during Sunday’s big game. It shows the new Kia HTML6 all electric crossover and the tiny robotic dog who could star alongside it.

Russell Wager, vice president of marketing at Kia America, stated that Kia America’s 13th Super Bowl ad is the center of a comprehensive marketing campaign. It will include social, digital, out-of home, and a special new CSR program with The Petfinder Foundation.

The commercial doesn’t give any details about who or what Kia is expecting to see. Kia did announce that it had formed a partnership to the Petfinder Foundation charity. This could help explain the robot-dog in the teaser pic. Both will offer “Kia Pet Adoption Grants” which will help animals in need find forever homes. Details will be available before the big game.

In a few weeks the Kia EV6 will start arriving at dealerships. Therefore, placing it in the middle of the commercial makes perfect business sense for Kia. The brand’s first model, the EV6, was launched under the new Plan S strategy. It focuses on electrification of the future. There are many options for the car, but the most powerful is the EV6 GT. It produces 577 horsepower (430 kilowatts) as well as 546 pound-feet (740 Newton meters) of torque.

The EV6 will go on sale in the US at $42,115. This includes the $1,215 destination fee but not the federal credit. It is interesting to include the dog because Hyundai Motor Group purchased Boston Dynamics in 2020. The company has also shown its robot-filled vision for the future. Perhaps we’ll see the evolution of this dream within the next few weeks.
