This two-seater is a hard-core machine that is road-legal.
Caterham’s one and only all-electric product is , a sleek electric bicycle that was revealed in 2014. However, Kinetik Automotive in Bulgaria uses a British chassis to create the country’s first zero emission sports car. The 07, an open-top two-seater with a hood, was unveiled yesterday at a Sofia event for potential customers, investors and media.
The sports car is built on Caterham’s lightweight platform. Kinetik then installs an electric powertrain that can accelerate the vehicle from standstill to 60 mph (0-100 km/h) in 2.7 seconds. Base model is 644 horsepower (480 Kilowatts) with more than 590 pound feet (800 Newton-meters).
It’s like driving a sport car in different worlds, where different physical laws apply,” Teodosiy Teodosiev, the founder of the company, and Kostadin Kostadinov, the company’s lead designer, explain. That’s how we describe our road legal track toy. The dynamics of a car are usually a two-dimensional story. Our case is multilayered. You can change from hub motors to full back power, and you can enter another dimension. You most likely have never experienced anything like it behind the wheel.
Nearly all of the software architecture for the 07 was developed by the Kinetik team. About 90 percent of components used in construction are unique to this electric sports car. The majority of exterior components can be 3D-printed. This allows the customer to customize and personalize the car as they wish.
The minimalist interior is focused on the configurable digital display, which can be used in three modes. Each screen is intended to give you the right amount of information in a glance.
The pre-production prototype has been revealed. According to TopGear Bulgaria Kinetik plans on starting production with seven cars in a limited series.
