Koenigsegg goes behind the scenes at its Geneva Motor Show stand

What could have been…

The Geneva Motor Show in March was to be the largest and most important automotive event of the first half. It was cancelled because of the coronavirus epidemic. We now have online debuts for the cars that were meant to be shown at large public premieres in the vicinity of Lake Geneva.

Koenigsegg was one of the companies that had grand unveilings for Geneva. Just days before the cancellation, the supercar automaker from Sweden brought the Jesko Absolut as well as the Gemera to Geneva. Christian von Koenigsegg – founder, CEO and ideologist of the brand, tours the Palexpo stand.

Koenigsegg basically elevated a building within another building. It was very functional and stylish. It had a main stand as well as two conference rooms, a configurator area for the Jesko and a hangout zone with an Xbox station that featured a Regera steering wheel, seat and other features. The most surprising thing was the fact that the company copied the Angelholm’s skid marks.

One quick glance from the brand’s room at the cancelled show shows a very depressing scene where many other companies are disassembling stands. The show featured a number of notable debuts this year and, according to Koegnisegg’s efforts, it would have been memorable.

The Swedish manufacturer did however make online debuts for its new supercars. They are both amazing. If you missed their debuts, be sure to visit the links above.
