LA Auto Show with GT Lines, 1,100 HP and Karma SC2 Concept Electric Vehicle Although the performance is still only theoretical, the design is stunning. Karma Automotive, a California-based EV manufacturer, has not been in touch with us lately. Karma Automotive’s newsroom has been quiet since the unveiling of its Revero GT , a niche EV manufacturer earlier this year at Auto Shanghai. The company has the LA Auto Show 2019 literally within its backyard. This year, the SC2 Concept is a new addition to the family. The car is certainly eye-catching, with its long bonnet and narrow deck reminiscent of a grand touring vehicle. The car may have the most impressive pair of butterfly doors that we’ve ever seen, opening up to a two-seat cockpit with plenty of tech. Karma claims that the SC2 is equipped with HD cameras and lidar sensors, which can digitally record the car. Karma says the tech can record real-life drives and then recreate them while the car is parked. This transforms the SC2 into an interactive driving simulator that’s almost like a video game. You’re basically “playing” your digital self in your car. This is a great trick, especially if your car freezes and you don’t have the ability to drive. The SC2 Concept is a very dynamic machine. Karma claims that the SC2 Concept can reach 60 mph in just 1.9 seconds using a pair electric motors. Karma claims the sprint takes 1.9 seconds and has a range of 352 miles. The SC2 should have impressive corner-carving capabilities thanks to carbon-ceramic brakes and a racing-inspired pushrod suspension system. This is true in theory anyway. Karma tells me that these figures were based on digital simulations and modeling of the SC2. This doesn’t mean that this is a random idea with unbelievable figures. Karma’s new vehicle architecture, which will be the basis for future vehicles, is shown in the SC2. Andreas Thurner (Karma vice president for global design and architecture) stated that SC2 is a bold and optimistic message about Karma’s future. He said that SC2 offers a positive and bold message about Karma’s future and encourages people to embrace the challenge of elevating experience driven mobility. SC2 is a connected, interactive, patented technology that enhances the excitement of the open road beyond what you would find in a high-performance luxury vehicle. The Karma SC2 Concept will appear at the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show from November 22 to December 1.
