We are not talking about a truck, in case you didn’t notice.
I don’t know about you, but I loved building ridiculous Lego cars as a child. Because you can only imagine when you are young, I built eight-wheelers and sometimes ten. Also, Lego bricks were what I was using, so that’s another plus.
What if I could make these unearthly creations with a real car today? It’s not difficult work. The most outrageous one we have seen is by Garage54.
You’ve probably been reading Motor1 to see that these guys don’t know where they should stop. The eight-wheel conversion of an Fiat Uno was done before. This inspired the crazy 14-wheeler conversion to a Lada sedan.
This Lada can move through its rear axle, unlike the eight-wheeler Fiat that ran on its front wheels. Or six axles, six in total, stacked one on top of the other like a pyramid. Bonkers.
They switched the car during the build to allow them to use the gasoline-converted Toyota Diesel engine they had previously. This is to make use of the torque advantage that the engine has over the standard Lada gasoline-mill.
It’s now time to test the car on the road. Although it worked as expected, there was some slippage in the tires when they got wet. This was to be expected. Despite not having a power steering system, the steering was fine.
Overall, all is well with the exception of one thing: suspension. They couldn’t add dampening to the multi-axle structure so they had to test it without suspension. This caused a lot of confusion for the presenter as he was trying to maneuver around the cabin.
