Bronto, not Bronco.

Lada declared the end to production of the Niva Bronto at the end last year. The demand for the offroad-inspired SUV was high so the Russian manufacturer decided that it would be brought back to life in the summer 2021. Lada just revealed the new Niva Bronto, which features improvements primarily inside the cabin.

The Niva Bronto is based on the rugged Niva Legend. It will be available in Luxe and Prestige versions. The former offers a more utilitarian appearance, with metal bumpers, 15-inch wheels, and the latter a more utilitarian look. The Prestige trim features a beefier bumper, side sills protection and wheel arches. Fog lamps and a radiator grille are included. Both versions can be fitted with factory-certified equipment, including an LED light bar for roof and special camouflage exterior paint.

The interior will be the focus of most changes for the new model year, as mentioned previously. The new model year will include a revised instrument cluster, a modified centre console with climate controls, more comfortable seats with heating function and better noise and vibration insulation. You can also see some other minor tweaks inside the cabin.

Lada’s legendary 1.7-lite naturally aspirated gasoline motor, which produces 83 horsepower (62 megawatts), continues to provide power. The four-cylinder unit is mated with a five-speed manual transmission, which sends power to all four wheels via an all-wheel drive system with locking front- and rear differentials. A modified and reinforced suspension is also used by the Niva Bronto. Lada has already begun accepting orders for the new Niva Bronto from its dealers across Russia. The model will not be exported, it is obvious. The new generation of Niva is expected to arrive in 2024. The first rumors suggested it might get a Renault-sourced turbocharged 1.3-liter engine. This will be the first time the Niva has been powered by a turbo engine in its history.
