Lamborghini Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster Getting PPF Is A Must-See

A rare car requiring special treatment.

Topaz Detailing is a company that sets the industry standard for car care. The Lamborghini SVJ63 roadster was taken by the Topaz Detailing team to apply paint protection film.

You may have noticed that the vehicle is made of many materials and has different finishes. It makes it extremely difficult to apply PPF without affecting the factory appearance. The owner wanted to cover the vehicle’s exterior as well as the interior, including the door cards. This added complexity made the job even more difficult.

Purists will be disappointed to learn that the video glosses over the “decontamination” phase. Topaz uses pre-cut pieces of their “stealth” PPF, which they have made with satin paint. To match the factory look, the guys used a glossier film for other parts of the vehicle such as the carbon fiber panels. The final product is truly amazing after hours spent removing any bubbles from the surfaces.

The Lambo’s number is not just for detail, but it also honors the birthyear of the company. It signifies that only 63 Lambo roadsters and hardtops will ever be produced. It’s as rare as it is fast, with its V12 engine of 6.5-liters delivering 770 horsepower (574 megawatts) to the driver’s right. The first ever roadster version was somehow rolled off the production line by the British detailing company. Every installation comes with a 5-year warranty in case the film should start to crack, yellow or lift.

This video is a great example of paint protection film technology’s progress since its inception. It isn’t perfect, but it is very satisfying to see it applied to an expensive Italian supercar.
