This is a costly mistake that can be made.
Today is not a good time for supercars. We previously covered a Ferrari488 Pista Spider, which was flipped while cruising the Tail of the Dragon US. Now we have a Lamborghini Huracan skinny dipping in a lake near Austria. Supercar drivers, please be more careful behind the wheel.
This sunken Lamborghinireport sounds more like an accident than assailment on public roads. The accident occurred in Mondsee in Austria, in the northern part of the country. It took place on October 19. This is significant because the driver of this Lambo made a small mistake and it ended up in the lake. According to local cop, the driver of the 31-year old Lambo apparently misunderstood the brake and accelerator pedals. This is a bad thing. It’s even worse if you live next to a lake.
According to local authorities, the driver had just dropped off the passenger in the lot near the lake and was turning around when the accident occurred. The car crashed into the lake and eventually sank 50 feet. According to reports, the driver was able to escape with only minor injuries. This is a great thing considering how quickly vehicles can sink and how terrifying it can be. As the water pressure outside of the vehicle increases, it’s easy to become trapped inside.
The driver was safe and the attention turned to the car. It wasn’t an easy recovery. According to reports, 31 firefighters from Mondsee and Innerschwand assisted with the operation. Five divers, a recovery balloon and a crane were used to lift the Lambo out of the water. It took three hours to complete the operation. Although we didn’t notice any significant damage, standing in 50 feet of water is essentially an automobile death sentence.
Please, folks, don’t push your supercar over the limits of a public roadway. Please keep track of which pedal does what. This is for your safety as well as the safety of others. It also helps to ensure that we have beautiful exotic machines to admire amid a sea o’ crossovers and SUVs.
