Lamborghini hosted an event in Tokyo called Excellence in Carbon Fiber.
The Lamborghini Countach Quattrovalvole, an Italian supercar brand, was the first vehicle to utilize carbon fiber. It was thirty years ago. According to the company, every model produced since then has used more lightweight material than any previous. Lambo celebrated recent weight savings innovations and looked to the future at “Excellence in Carbon Fiber” event at the Meiji Memorial Picture Gallery in Tokyo. Because Lambo has signed a memorandum with Mitsubishi Rayon Company to develop future carbon fiber innovations, the country makes it a perfect location for the party. They are working together to develop a process for large-scale automated production of carbon fiber reinforced polymer. Japan is also a major source of the raw materials used to make the stuff. Lambo made a major step forward in light-weight material research when it opened a new site for Advanced Composite Structures Laboratory in Seattle. The lab was previously responsible for Forged Composite which makes carbon fiber more flexible to be sculpted into structural parts. Boeing was also a partner of the automaker. The next goal of the supercar manufacturer is to produce carbon engine parts , particularly connecting rods for production vehicles. It could lead to a lighter, stronger version of the same component than a similar metal model. This breakthrough could lead to faster revving and more powerful engines for future models.
Lamborghini’s ability to create carbon fiber into beautiful shapes is evident in limited-edition models such as the Sesto Ellemento or Centenario. Both vehicles extensively use lightweight materials, including their chassis and bodies. Even less-expensive Lambos, such as and the Aventador Superveloce, are increasingly using the lightweight material. It is possible that the supercars by Lamborghini could become almost entirely carbon-fiber at some point.
