Lamborghini Files a Trademark for Revuelto. Could be a Name for Future EVs

It will not be named after a bull if it becomes a car.

The trademark office is the best way to find the names of future cars. Lamborghini is a good example. The Italian supercar manufacturer wants to retain the rights to “Revuelto” in a trademark application at the European Union Intellectual Property Office.

The trademark was filed last May 25, 2022 (hat tip Carbuzz), and it has been published only at the beginning June under the filing number 018707961.

Revuelto, a Spanish term, means “scrambled, unruly and fumbling”. Most Lamborghini cars are named after Spanish bulls, as we all know. This is, however, except for Sesto Elemento which means sixth element and Countach which is a boorish Piedmontese expression. If Revuelto is approved, it will be the second Lambo named after a bull.

The trademark was filed under the classes 9, 12, 25 and 28 of EUIPO. The classes 25 and 28 refer to merchandise that is connected with the vehicle. This is not surprising given Lamborghini’s preference for Lamborghini.

Classes 9 and 12 were what piqued our curiosity. “Electric batteries to power electric vehicles” is included in class 9. Electric vehicles and any other powered by electric motors fall under class 12.

Although electric components are not included in the Revuelto, it isn’t necessarily a guarantee that it will be called a Lamborghini Electric Vehicle. We won’t be surprised, however, if the automaker doesn’t cover all bases.

We know that Lamborghini will be able to hybridize all its vehicles by 2024. The first Lambo electric vehicle is expected to arrive in 2025. It is not clear if the EV will come as a two-door sports car, or an SUV.
