Finally, the roofless race car you have always wanted is here.

Do you love Lamborghini’s Huracan STO but wish it had a roof? The Huracan STO is currently a coupe, but this rendering by Aksyonov Nikita might be enough to satisfy you. We expect a Huracan STO without a roof to be available in Lamborghini’s true style, where model segmentation rules.

The Lamborghini Huracan EVO was created using information from the Lamborghini Super Trofeo racing program. This racing series features professional and privateers competing on circuits around the world in Huracan Super Trofeo Evo racecars.

The Huracan STO was created to celebrate the Super Trofeo’s success and share the knowledge with customers. STO stands to Super Trofeo Omologata. This is Lamborghini’s code for, it is a race car that can be driven on the roads with tons of aero.

The Huracan STO has many aero improvements starting with the race car. These include an adjustable carbon fiber rear wings, shark fin for high speed stability, rear scoop for increased cooling, revised front ends for greater downforce and weight savings. To save weight, most of the Huracan STO body panels are made from carbon fiber. This car is 95 lbs (43 kilogram) lighter than the standard Huracan Performante.

The same V10 engine that powers the Huracan Performante Evo racecar produces 640 horsepower (477kW) and 417lb-ft (465nm) of torque. The V10’s powerful power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. This tire was specially made for the STO by Bridgestone.

Lamborghini might be nervous about removing the roof from their most extreme Huracans, given all the focus on performance. Lamborghini doesn’t only care about numbers, but also understands that sometimes having fun is worth it.
