We all need to get along.
Although driving supercars for a living sounds great, we all have our down days. It was one of those bad days for the Lamborghini test driver, as he decided that he would give the car to YouTuber and amateur spy photographer . It was a prototype of the Huracan ST car, so it is unlikely that the man behind the camera was filming a secret model.
Varryx has been featured many times on Motor1.com because he is keen to shoot exotic Italian cars that are currently being tested out in the open. This video was taken on a public road just outside the Lamborghini factory at Sant’Agata Bolognese. He didn’t do any illegal activities. Lamborghini may have seen this man before while he was following its prototypes. He isn’t likely to be thrilled that he takes photos and videos for social media.
In recent years, our own spy photographers have received the one-finger salute from Ford, Volkswagen and Hyundai. It’s likely that it won’t be the last. Varryx posted the incident on Instagram, describing it as “childish behavior”, before adding that he would send photos and this video directly to Lamborghini customer service to “see what their thoughts are.”
“I have met many test drivers over the years from Lamborghini, Ferrari, Pagani and even Pagani. They were all happy to share the photos and videos of their beautiful cars. Some of them became my friends because it was nice to share the passion. This guy was rude and he had no right to be.
A raised finger is not, however, the end of the universe. It is a slap in the face at the end. Lamborghini is unlikely to take any action against the driver. Perhaps a verbal reprimand. It’s understandable that car manufacturers don’t like photographers looking at their cars. Another Huracan STO was spotted at the Nurburgring in May using “special gas,” possibly to attempt a lap record.
