Lambo has sold all 63 units at $2.5 million each.
According to Australia’s Motoring, Lamborghini will unveil its highly anticipated hybrid hypercar at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It is codenamed LB48H, but Lambo will give it a more flashy name
According to reports, the LB48H will take its styling cues from the Terzo Millenio idea (gallery above). The front wheels will be driven by an electric motor, while the rear will be turned by the long-lasting 6.5-liter V12 engine. Rumours suggest that the model will have an output of 838 horsepower (or 625 kilowatts).
Lamborghini will build 63 units for the LB48H to honor the company’s 1963 founding year. It’s too late for this limited-run Lambo because the company has buyers for all of them. Customers will pay $2.5 million for the hypercar.
The hybrid powertrain will also be available in the Aventador’s successors. However, the wait for the new supercar may be longer than originally planned for 2020. We don’t have to change the Aventador, so it might be delayed. Federico Foschini (Chief Commercial Officer Lamborghini), stated that the SVJ was presold in three to four weeks.
Hybrids can be a disadvantage because the electric components add approximately 441 pounds (200 kg) to your car. Lambo plans to use as many carbon fiber as possible in order to reduce the weight gain. However, the Aventador successor will still be slightly larger than the current model.
Foschini said that Lambo also had a model that would be debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show. He called it “a surprise.” Most likely is the plug in hybrid version of Urus.
