Lamborghini To Auction Final Aventador Ultimae, V12 PHEV Replacement Confirmed

Lamborghini To Auction Final Aventador Ultimae, V12 PHEV Replacement Confirmed

This V12 is the last ICE-only V12. It comes with a 1:1 NFT.

Although it might sound like something marketing people would say, “The end of an age” perfectly describes the Aventador Ultimae. This statement holds true even more for the last example of the production run. It was limited to 350 coupes, and 250 roadster. The raging bull is auctioning the epilogue to the V12-only supercar of Sant’Agata Bolognese, complete with a 1:1 NFT (non-fungible) token.

The winner will have early access to future models and will be able to look into Lamborghini’s future. The winning bidder will also be able to visit the museum and have a chat with Krista and Steve Aoki, but only online. The car will be based upon the coupe, with a gradual change in color from blue to black.

Lamborghini claims that it will be the last V12 supercar to have a non-hybrid engine. You may be aware that 15 customer cars were lost when the Felicity Ace cargo vessel went under, causing the company to restart production. The Ultimae will be made only after the vehicles have been finished. This makes it truly the last Ultimae.

Lamborghini also announced that the car would be auctioned off. Since we knew for a while that the successor to the Aventador would be a hybrid, the exotic Italian marque has now revealed it will be a PHEV. The twelve-cylinder engine has been confirmed. However, an electric motor will be used in conjunction with it.

The Lamborghini PEV will not be the first electric production car, as the 2019 Sian FKP37 has supercapacitor technology. The Asterion, a plug-in hybrid vehicle that was launched in 2014, wasn’t the first. However, the electric Huracan-powered concept with 910 horsepower did not get a road-going model.

However, the purely naturally-aspirated engine will disappear after 2022. The supercar’s “baby” mid-engined supercar will have a pure combustion V10 and the Super SUV with its twin-turbo V8 will follow later in the year. Along with another Urus derivative, a Huracan Sterrato high-riding supercar is also in the works.

All future models will feature electrification after that. An EV is expected to arrive around 2028.
