The perfect lap to begin your day.
The Lamborghini Urus, a performance SUV that combines all the passion and performance of a Lamborghini with a practical SUV body, is one of the most remarkable on the planet. Top Gear gave the keys to this super SUV to the Stig to test it on their track. Lamborghinis UTVs is not the first thing that comes to mind when you think about Lamborghinis. Lamborghini, Porsche, Audi and Bentley are all part of the Volkswagen Auto Group. Lamborghini is part of a large pool of resources that allows it to share parts with other brands.
Volkswagen Auto Group can amortize large capital expenses across a variety of products by sharing resources. The MLB Evo platform is the basis for the Lamborghini Urus. This platform is used in 34 models within the Volkswagen Auto Groups product range. There’s also the FSI twin turbo 4.0-liter V8 motor, which can be found in many Porsche and Audi products at various levels of tuning. The Urus offers the most powerful version with 641 horsepower (478kW) and 627lb-ft (685 Nm) of torque.
The Urus is more than just a parts-bin model. It features 17-inch carbon-ceramic brakes, a unique interior, and 23-inch wheels. The Urus offers a unique suspension, transmission and all-wheel drive system tuning that creates a unique driving experience. Although the SUV has many shared components, the final result is Lamborghini. This proves that details do matter.
