Lamborghini’s new teaser video has been released. We are not sure exactly what the Italian automaker is up to. This clip of 50 seconds shows the Aventador Ultimae racing through what appears to be an underground boiler room filled with steam pipes. The text at the end indicates that something “Ultimate”, will soon be available on Web3.
Gavin Wood, an Ethereum cryptocurrency founder, coined Web3 in 2014. It is now a buzzword in tech. The concept of was discussed in an interview with Wood. A story from Wired describes the idea as.
Web3 is a decentralized, blockchain-based online ecosystem. Web3 platforms and apps won’t be controlled by a central gatekeeper. Instead, they will be owned by users who help to create and maintain these services.
We are not sure exactly what Lamborghini plans to do with Web3 and the Aventador. However, it could be another non-fungible token (NFT).
In January 2022 Lamborghini presented the Space Key. Five pieces of carbon fiber were taken from a 2019 research project about the International Space Station. They were framed by the automaker and given QR codes that linked to an NFT.
These five NFTs were sold at auction for $659,636. prices were $110,000, $203,636, $110,000, $70,000 and $150,000. Lamborghini also created an auction site to sell NFTs.
After 15 Aventador Ultimaes were lost on the Felicity Ace while the supercars were being transported to the United States, Lamborghini decided to bring the Aventador Ultimae back to production.
The Aventador Ultimae Lamborghini is the most powerful non hybrid Lamborghini. It is the last evolution of V12 supercarbefore hybrid assistance for next generation.
The naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12 produces 769 horsepower (570 kilowatts) and 531 pound feet (572 Newton-meters). The Ultimae’s dry weight is 3,417 pounds (1.550 kilograms), which 55 pounds (25 kgs) lower than the Aventador S. It can reach speeds of 62 miles an hour (100 km/h) in just 2.8 seconds. The maximum speed is 220.5 mph (355 km/h).
