Land Cruiser Police Car Stuck on Beach, Then Gets Swamped by The Tide

It took several hours to lift the Land Cruiser from the water.

People at the Las Piletas beach, Spanish town Sanlucar de Barrameda, were surprised to see a Toyota Land Cruiser being swallowed by the tide. This vehicle belonged the country’s national security police. The bizarre event was captured by multiple people.

According to a report by Aionsur, the national police were at the beach looking for a suspicious package. The Land Cruiser got stuck in the mud, and could not be freed. The tide started to rise.

No injuries were reported. To aid in rescue efforts, one of the officers remained behind the wheel while the Land Cruiser was partially submerged.

The Land Cruiser’s condition after rescue is unknown. Submersion in water can be dangerous for any vehicle. Saltwater, which is more likely to cause corrosion of electronic components in this instance, can make it even worse.

Toyota has launched a new generation Land Cruiser. To replace the 5.7-liter V8 it has a twin-turbo, 3.5-liter engine. It produces 409 horsepower (305 Kilowatts) as well as 479 pound-feet (405 Newton-meters) torque. It is available with three differential locks and a 10-speed manual gearbox.

The Land Cruiser is a powerful off-roader. The new Land Cruiser has a maximum ground clearance of 9.05 inches (230 mm) and adaptive suspension. The Crawl Control system has been updated to allow one-pedal motoring. You can even use the underbody camera.
