A bright white Land Rover Defender 110 might be seen at your local dealership, on white steel wheels with some off-road accessories. This Defender 110 First Edition model is not unique. It’s one of 500 Defender 30th Anniversary Edition models made by Land Rover.
Defender enthusiasts may be surprised to learn that although the original model was launched in 1983 it wasn’t released until 10 years later. This 30th Anniversary Edition is only for North American dealers and is based upon a 110 P300S model. The outside will be the same color as the interior, and the seats will have ebony-grained leather. Gloss, 18-inch steel wheels and heritage inspired badging are all part of the package.
The 30th Anniversary Edition also includes many accessories. The special 110 is designed to highlight the Defender’s offroad skills. It comes with a cool roof rack and fixed side steps. There are also fender flares, a deployable ladder and grille guard. Numerous Land Rover Packages are included in the standard kit. The off-road pack includes the tow package and cold climate pack.
Joe Eberhardt, Jaguar Land Rover North America CEO, stated that the Defender 30th anniversary Edition is a classic vehicle that pays tribute to 1993 Defender 110 First Edition. This Edition is a celebration of the Defender model heritage in North America and offers technology and features that adventurers today demand in a new vehicle.
In 2020, the Defender made its return to the US with the new generation model. This ended a 13-year absence. The Defender V8 has 518 horsepower (386kilowatts) and a supercharged, 5.0-liter V8. A even more powerful Defender is being rumored. It may be wearing the SVR moniker, packing 600 horsepower (447 kW), and a twin-turbocharged, 4.4-liter V8 borrowed BMW.
