This video shows the suspension of the SUV.
A new spy video captured the testing of a long-wheelbase version at the Nurburgring. The next-generation Land Rover Range Rover is currently in development. Although the SUV is still covered in full-body camouflage, the underneath design will not differ from the current-generation’s elegant and luxurious design. This video shows Land Rover pushing Range Rover around the track.
The Range Rover is seen hustling about the track with its suspension keeping it planted on the pavement. While the camouflage wrap conceals any design changes Land Rover may make, it still retains its original shape. However, the familiarity does not mean that there aren’t any changes. We expect the headlights to be narrower than the current model and other styling tweaks will help distinguish it from the current-gen model.
Although the test vehicle does not have tailpipes, we believe it has a V8 underneath. The previous test vehicles had quad exhaust outlets which suggested eight cylinders. This likely engine is BMW’s twin turbocharged 4.4-liter one. We don’t know the exact output, but we expect Land Rover will offer diesel, plug in hybrid and fully-electric powertrains as the next generation model. This is possible because of the brand’s Modular Longitudinal Architecture, which can accommodate different propulsion systems.

The interior of the next-gen Range Rover will be completely redesigned. Initial spy shots showed an incomplete interior. However, the SUV will get major tech upgrades, including new screens and capacitive buttons. Land Rover will combine these new tech features with premium materials, and other luxurious features. Although the next-gen Range Rover will likely break cover by the end of 2019, 2022 is just around the corner. The next-generation Range Rover could be released in selected markets by 2021. However, it will be available for wider distribution next year. It is possible that it will be delayed.
