Landwind now sells aftermarket parts and accessories to make the X7 more British-style.
Blurring the line even further between the real Range Rover Evoque and its Chinese clone, Landwind is now selling aftermarket bits and pieces to make the X7 look even more like the authentic British crossover.
The Landwind X7 is a Chinese clone of Range Rover Evoque. Many kits now include a grille, badge and other accessories to make it look even more authentic. Even more shocking, Landwind actually sells some of these kits through its own dealer network in China.
Customers are not being truthful, as the Evoque is three times more expensive than the Evoque, despite the fact that the design is faithfully reproduced. Land Rover had planned to sue Landwind for copyright infringement, but China’s laws are very basic and Land Rover decided to drop the case as the odds of winning were slim.
It’s unlikely Land Rover will lose customers due to the huge price difference between them, but it’s sad to see that the Landwind still exists and was sold earlier this week in China.
