The car was specified by the buyer with a focus on performance and not grand touring.
Singer Vehicle Design will be displaying the latest version of its Turbo Study program. These models are not inspired by the 911 Turbo’s first-generation 911 Turbo, but blend design elements from both the 911 Turbo’s 930 and 964-generation 911 Turbo.
This Singer is powered by a twin-turbocharged, 3.8-liter flat-six air-cooled with an air to water intercooler. This mill produces 510 horsepower (380kilowatts), an improvement over the 450hp (330kW) of the Turbo Study. Singer’s previous models were powered by naturally aspirated powerplants. Singer stated that the Turbo Study was being used for grand touring and included elements such as power-adjustable heated seats. This buyer, however, wanted to place emphasis on performance. A six-speed manual gearbox drives the engine. This car features a sport suspension and a lower ride height. Carbon-ceramic brakes are used.
The car features a Turbo Racing White body and a light-colored dual stripe running across the middle. The Fuchs-inspired wheels also have the minty color in the middle sections. The exposed carbon-fiber finish is seen on the rear spoiler, front splitter and shark-fin intake. For a cleaner appearance, there are no bumperettes at rear.
The interior of the Singer has houndstooth fabric with green and dark elements on a white background. A pair of carbon fiber seats are lightweight and have leather-trimmed bolsters. The space normally used for rear seats is taken up by a cross-brace.
Singer’s original Turbo Study model was first introduced in April 2005. The company claimed that there were already more than 70 reservations. They can be ordered in either rear- or all-wheel drive configurations depending on the customer’s preference.
Singer will bring a Turbo Study to Goodwood Festival of Speed, which will take place from June 23 through 26. It is not clear if the company will display a new model of the model, or one of its two previous debuts.
Singer has signed an agreement to supply engines to some boutique builders’ vehicles through Porsche. Singer will specify the powerplants.
