Only 4,000+ people are needed to make this Lego Ideas entry a reality.
Remember back when BMW, Lamborghini were almost able to make a race car and a sports car? This is the BMW M1, but it was a pure BMW model, since Lambo dropped out from the agreement with the German marque.
It would be difficult to find an actual M1 today, unless you have a boatload of cash that can be spent on well-kept and restored examples. This Lego creation allows you to make one. Of course, it’s a toy.
This M1 brick was created by TOMOELL and submitted to Lego Ideas. To say it is popular would be an understatement. Lego actually took note of the creation and promoted it through its Ideas newsletter.
There are two versions to the M1 Lego Ideas creation. One is the classic orange version and one that features the BMW M livery. Each version uses around 1,000 bricks and features openable doors and roofs as well as movable steering. The entire upper section of the vehicle can be removed by separating the chassis from the engine and seats.
The BMW M1 Lego Ideas creation has attracted more than 5,000 supporters to date. This is half the number needed to officially consider it a set that the company will sell. You can send your support by visiting the Lego Ideas page. You still have more than one year to send your support.
