Details include operating differentials, moving pistons and steering.
Lego Technic’s latest Lego Technic kit features a 1,432-piece McLaren Formula One car, which was built in 2021. F1 enthusiasts can add this model to their scale vehicle collection starting March 1. This machine retails at $179.99.
You will have to give up some space on your shelf for the F1 car. It is over 25.5 inches (65 cmimeters), 10.5 inches (27.5 centimeters), wide and more than 5 inches (13.3 centimeters).
This styling features cues from the unveiled 2022 McLaren F1 vehicle. According to the toy maker, the Lego designers collaborated closely with McLaren Racing’s team to develop their versions of the car for the 2022 racing season.
Because of its large size, there’s plenty of space to add interesting details. There are moving pistons in the turbocharged V6 engine, as well as a differential that works. You can pretend you’re Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris with the steering. You can also use the suspension. To make your car look exactly like the one you see on the track, the model includes sponsorship decals.
Due to the complexity of this build, Lego recommends that you are at least 18 years old. A coffee-table-style book with instructions is included that tells the story of McLaren Racing’s collaboration with Lego.
Both companies have an existing collaborative relationship. The Elva was tiny, as were the 720S. Although it contained 830 pieces, the Senna GTR got a Lego Technic model.
McLaren F1’s 1,432 parts are less than other Lego Technic sets. The toymaker released a model of the Lamborghini Sian, which included 3,696 blocks. The Bugatti Chiron was released in 2018 with 3,599 bricks.
