The luxury brand viewed its electrification plans for the next decade.
Toyota and Lexus made a huge splash this morning by teasing 15 electric vehicles. These vehicles are part of the company’s efforts to introduce 30 EVs before the end of the decade. This includes a broad range of vehicle types. Lexus teased a few of their products, including six that were hidden in shadows. However, the company didn’t conceal all of them. The photo shows Lexus working on two wagons as well as a four-seat convertible.
They were visible in the photo to the right of Lexus’ future hypercar two-seater. Although the two wagons are identical, the one in front has a higher suspension and ride height. There is also extra cladding at the wheel wells. It appears that the other wagon is lower than the others. Although the four-seat convertible looks a little harder, the missing roof draws attention to the interior and reveals a little of it.
We don’t know much about the new models, but we will start to see its electrification efforts next spring with the RZ450e, which is an elegant take on the Toyota Z4X, which Lexus also teased today. A brand-new electric hypercar with a range of more than 435 miles (700 km) was also shown. We don’t know when the Lexus car could go into production. Toyota and Lexus are among the automakers that will electrify their vehicles over the next decade. The first Toyota dedicated electric vehicle will arrive next year. A Lexus version is in development. But it’s only the beginning of the luxury marquee. Lexus did not specify when these models would be available for production. There are many things that could happen between now, 2030 and then. Some of these models may be radically modified before they go on sale. Others might be abandoned entirely. Lexus has a compelling EV line-up.
