The one for the street and the other for the track.
Lexus collaborates with two well-known racing drivers in the creation of a pair IS cars for this year’s SEMA show. Townsend Bell and Hiraku Co. built an IS500 street-car. Scott Pruett, Dsport Magazine transform an IS 350 into a vehicle for the track.
Hiraku’s IS 500 and Townsend Bell get a 3d-pointed body kit. This includes bumper canards and front fenders, bumper canards and side sills. It also includes a rear diffuser and rear spoiler. Seibon’s carbon fiber pieces make the trunk and hood. It is mounted on 20-inch Rotiform wheels and an aerodynamic disc on the outside.
You also get a lot of performance upgrades for the car. Modifications include a new intake, and an exhaust with titanium tips. You also get an adjustable coilover suspension as well as additional chassis braces. Brembo GT brakes allow the vehicle to slow down more effectively.
Scott Pruett and Dsport Magazine are currently working on the IS 350. There is a plan to continue its development and coverage in the magazine. It still features the 311-horsepower (232 watt) 3.5-liter naturally-aspirated V6 but there is a plan to increase the output by more than twice when the project is complete.
Performance updates include custom-built KW Variant 3 coilovers and carbon-ceramic brakes from Lexus RCF Track Edition.
This design features a body wrap in orange and blue that is inspired by Pruett’s helmet art. The body kit is also available from Artisan Spirits. These pieces increase the width of the fenders by subtley increasing the front by 1.18 inches (30 mm) and the back by 1.97 inches (50 mm)
There’s a 4-point roll bar inside, and the driver is in a carbon-and-kevlar racing seat with five-point harness.
Lexus uses the SEMA Show as a platform to announce its intention to increase the F Sport range to four tiers. F Sport Design is all about sporty looks. This includes changing bumpers and wheels. F Sport Handling gets features like adaptive dampers. F Sport Performance enhances suspension upgrades by adding extra power. Finaly, F models get a complete overhaul in order to become the most sporty vehicles in the brand’s range.
