Curiously, Lexus does not call it a concept.
Toyota made a big announcement in December 2021 by , announcing all sorts of new electric vehicles. There were also a few Lexus-badged models. Among those was a sports car with a long roof, short deck and beautiful profile. Lexus now offers a better view of the car with new photos.
Although we don’t have all the details on Lexus’ plans for its sleek performance EV, we do get a glimpse of the sports car from every angle. Although there are obvious parallels to the LFA supercar of 10 years ago, some may argue that the nose is more like something from McLaren. Side-on, the two-seater is incredibly long and low, giving it a Toyota Supra feel. It doesn’t have any rear windows, which is likely due to the use of cameras to provide a view of the behind. Because this sucker’s electrical, it connects to the bold taillight housings in an unbroken rear fascia.
Curiously, Lexus does not call this vehicle a concept. It’s not yet officially named. This is a future-electronic sports car or next-generation sports vehicle, as the posh name implies. Although there aren’t any details about the powertrain, Lexus claims it can accelerate from 0-60 miles per hour in under two seconds.
This sounds more hypercar-like than a sports car. However, the acceleration capability of this vehicle suggests that it will be all-wheel-drive. The claimed range is over 400 miles, although the battery specifications are not available.
Lexus is moving forward with its electrification plans and hopes to have a wide range of EVs by 2030. Lexus says the sports car shown here is part of this plan. Lexus also stated that the sports car “symbolizes both the future Lexus brand and the spirit of the legendary Lexus LFA.”
