Both cars sound incredible, regardless of which vehicle wins.
The technical advancement of modern supercars can be seen by comparing them to top-tier models from just a few years back. This video has a great comparison because both models feature naturally aspirated V10 engine that make amazing sounds. It’s a Lexus LFA and a Lamborghini Huracan STO.
A Lexus FFA can fetch over $1,000,000 these days. It is rare to see one drag racer, which makes this video even more exciting. Its naturally aspirated 4.8-liter V10 engine is one of the most powerful engines in road-legal vehicles. It has a redline of 9,000 rpm and spins very quickly.
The powerplant produces 552 horsepower (412 Kilowatts) as well as 354 pound-feet (354 Newton-meters). The six-speed automatic manual gearbox drives the engine.
The Huracan (Super Trofeo Omologata), a supercar designed for track use, can also be driven on the streets. The car’s dry weight is 2,951 pounds (1.339 kilograms). This is due to many tweaks, including the use of carbon fiber for more than 75 percent.
Naturally aspirated V10 engines produce 630 horsepower (470 kW) or 417 lb.ft (565 Nm) respectively. The power is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox.
The clutch of the Lexus LFA is quite fragile and expensive to replace. Drivers therefore don’t use launch control in these races.
The first is a drag race with strange results. First, the LFA leads from the start and crosses the line first. Although the Lamborghini driver believes everything is in order, the gearbox shifts well before the redline.
The race was rerun, but the Huracan STO is now in manual shifting mode. It’s quite a difference and the Lamborghini wins easily.
Finally, they raced from a roll. Although the video doesn’t show the start speed, it isn’t important. Another easy win for the Huracan. Because both V10s are screaming together, this race is one of the most impressive.
