Lexus Promises to Build Sports Cars in the Electrified Era

In 2025, we should expect to see some action from the performance department.

The LFZ Electrified concept, which was shown earlier in the week, showed the future design language and technological direction Lexus would take over the next few years. Some people were disappointed that the Japanese automaker would focus on crossovers, and SUVs. However, a top-ranking executive from Lexus has confirmed that there will be Lexus sports cars in the electrified era.

The biggest news is that the LC500 will not be the last halo sports car for the company. Lexus is expected to introduce its successor in 2025. It will include electrification in some form. This is more than an assumption. It’s a promise from Lexus.

Hiroo Togashi (brand management boss), stated that customers want more emotional vehicles. These vehicles should offer interaction between passenger and car. We believe we can provide sport vehicles in the future. Although I cannot give details, we will be developing such a vehicle in 2025.

Lexus Promises to Build Sports Cars in the Electrified Era

The LF-Z Electrified was Lexus’s new electrified all-wheel-drive technology. It is intended to create a new driving experience and sensation. Imagine an electric LC 500 replacement with proper weight balance, instant torque and a smart all wheel-drive system.

Lexus will begin selling electrified versions of all new models starting in 2025. As the brand seeks to diversify its engine range, the strategy will include the launch of many new hybrid and batteries-powered models. This all-wheel-drive system can be used on hybrids as well as BEVs, making it compatible with a wide variety of vehicles.
