Only two rows of seats will be available on the 2023 RX’s launch.
The three-row RX L was introduced by Lexus at the 2017 LA Auto Show. The fifth-generation Lexus RX was just unveiled by Lexus, but it will not be available in the largest configuration. Lexus spokesperson confirmed to Motor1.com the 2023 RX will launch with only two rows. Lexus did not mention in its press release that there would be three rows for the 2023 RX.
According to rumors, Toyota will be preparing two new three-row crossovers for the US market. The one with the Toyota badge will be the first, and the other with the Lexus logo. The Lexus TX will be the new three-row Lexus. It is possible that it will be called Lexus TX.
The details of the TX are not available, but the TX will allegedly be similar to the three-row Toyota. Lexus has trademarked the TX550h+ and the TX350. However, these trademarks are not reliable for predicting future products. The new TX will slot below the GX, LX and LX in Lexus’ lineup.
The loss of RX may disappoint some. However, it is likely to be replaced in the future. The new rides on a GA-K platform which helps the crossover reduce some weight and increase the wheelbase while reducing the overall length.
Lexus will offer its 2023 RX with four powertrains of which three are hybrids. Lexus has only provided information about three powertrains. Information on the hybrid 450h+ will be revealed later. The RX will be available with a 2.4 liter turbocharged four cylinder, a 2.5 liter hybrid or a turbo four-cylinder hybrid.
This turbo hybrid produces 367 horsepower (273 Kilowatts) as well as 406 pound-feet (455 Newton-meters). The engine is also given the F Sport Performance designation. It can reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in 5.9 seconds and return 26 mpg combined. The RX350h and its 2.5-liter hybrid return 33 mpg.
The new Lexus RX 2023 will be available for purchase in the latter part of 2022. Although Lexus has not yet announced the price of the crossover, it will soon. The crossover will be available in six trims and only two rows. For three rows, you’ll need to look elsewhere.
