Lexus Wants the NX300 to Look Menacing with a Black Line Special Edition

However, it’s not all black.

Lexus just revealed a new member to the 2020 crossover family. It is the most sinister-looking Lexus SUV that we have seen. The Black Line Special Edition transforms the NX 300’s angular, edgy appearance into a stealth fighter on the road. It may not look as impressive as a jet but it is more mysterious due to the extensive use of blacked-out elements. This appears to be a caterpillar for those who don’t like the F sport variant or trim pieces.

The NX 300 Black Line Edition is not completely black. Instead, it comes in three colors: Eminent White Pearl or Nebula Gray Pearl. All of these look very smart. Next comes the blacked-out treatment, which is the dark grille with black surround and black fog lamps housing. There are also the 18-inch bronze-finished wheels with body-colored overfenders. The color of the wheels is still a question mark for me. Perhaps a black/silver combination would have been better. However, the body-colored fenders add a nice touch.

Inside, the bronze theme continues with the stitching on the seat, center console, door trim and floormats. You also get a black headliner and heated front seats with memory function. These little extras are added to the Premium Package, which already includes a power moonroof as well as auto-dimming rearview mirrors.

The 2020 NX 300 Black Line Special Edition will become available in dealerships starting November 2019. It will be limited to 2,000 units. The special edition is available in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive and costs $44,710 and $46,110 respectively. These prices do NOT include shipping or processing fees.
