The ATS GT Launch Edition features a twin-turbo 3.8 liter V8 with 730 horsepower and a carbon fiber body.
Automobili Turismo e Sport Automobili, or simply ATS, has finally made available more information about the limited-edition machine after displaying it at the Monterey Car Week. As a tribute to the total production of the 1964 ATS2500 GT, ATS plans to only build 12 units for the GT Launch Edition. They start at $850,000, or 740,000 euros. However, the price can rise quickly due to the unique nature of the model. ATS has sold three of these machines and nine more are available.
The ATS GT is meant to look similar to the original company vehicles. However, the design is far more modern. The model’s low-slung nose, and side-mounted intakes gives it a look similar to an Audi R8 or McLaren. ATS uses carbon fibre to build the chassis and body to reduce weight.
ATS keeps it simple inside. Instead of the current trend of having multiple large screens, ATS keeps things simple with just two knobs on their dashboard. This allows them to select driving modes and other options. Two switches allow you to raise the rear wing or toggle between manual and automatic gearbox controls.
A twin-turbo, 3.8-liter V8 produces 730 horsepower (544kW). The optional ATS Corsa Package increases the power output to 830 hp (619 kW). Brembo also offers carbon-ceramic brakes.
At least one ATS GT has already been on the road. The driver was seen trying to get from a parking lot onto the road by filming. It was a very painful sound due to the limited production and high cost.
