Because size matters.
Ford’s luxury marque has created a larger version of its full-size luxury SUV if you find the regular 2018 Navigation too small. The extended version is appropriately named “Extended” and will be making its debut on the eve the summer solstice, which is the longest day of year. The interior is more spacious because it’s nearly one foot (30 cm) longer than the standard model.
Lincoln boasts that the stretched model has a segment-leading cargo volume, 15 cubic feet more cargo space behind the third row and a second-row seat. It doesn’t end there, as the longer rear doors make it easier to get in and out the Navigator. The extended wheelbase is almost 10 inches (25.4 cm) longer than the standard Navigator. This gives you more legroom.
It’s not surprising that the new version is more costly in terms of price. The regular 2018 Navigator starts at $72,055 MSRP for its entry-level Premiere trim. However, the base Select L model will cost you $80,750. There are also differences in equipment. The regular model has 20-inch wheels, while the extended variant has 22-inch.
You can go all out, and the Black Label L’s starting price will rise to $96,905. Once you add options, you could easily reach $100,000. The rear seat entertainment system is $1,995, while the 30-way adjustable driver seat and passenger seats with massage function cost $1,250.
Lincoln has created a new Destination interior theme inspired by vintage luggage for the Black Label L range topper. The seats are covered in Mahogany Red Venetian Leather with a fancy diamond weave and complemented by khaya wood laser-etched details. Buyers can also choose the Navigator with Chalet or Yacht Club interior themes.
