Lingenfelter Gives Colorado More Power With a Swapped LT4 V8

The supercharged V8 Colorado is finally here.

The Chevy Colorado truck is a powerful mid-sized truck that offers big truck performance in an affordable package. The ZR2, an off-road-oriented ZR2, offers multi-car suspension technology in a mid-sized truck. Colorado customers have the option of a V6 engine or a diesel inline-4, but unfortunately, a V8 was never available from the factory. This did not stop the owner from installing the same V8 as the C7 Corvette Z06 in their Colorado ZR2.

The Chevy Colorado comes with the LGZ 3.6 liter V6 that produces 308 horsepower, and 275 lb.ft of torque. Customers who want more pulling power may choose the Duramax LWN diesel-inline-4 engine, which produces 181 horsepower as well as an impressive 369 Lb-ft torque. What if you are a Colorado resident looking for more power?

You have options, and they are many. First Lingenfelter sells a supercharger kit to power the LGZ V6. It increases power from 308 up to 450 horses at the crank. According to dyno results, the stock Colorado V6 produces 260 horsepower and 235 lb.ft of torque in 2WD. Colorado was able to produce 377 horsepower and 321 pounds of torque when Lingenfelter installed the 450 horsepower package.

These numbers won’t inspire you? Then swap your V8 for a better one. This video shows the Colorado of your dreams. It combines the Colorado ZR2 and the legendary LT4 V8 from the C7 Corvette Z06 or Cadillac CTS-V. The LT4 is capable of producing 650 horsepower and 650 lb ft of torque in vehicles that are more than twice the Colorado’s stock engine V6. Lingenfelter’s kit of 720 horsepower was also added by the customer.

The resulting dyno result shows 534 horsepower and 526 Lb-ft torque, which is more than twice the stock V6’s dyno. Although these numbers may seem low, it is important to remember that Colorado has much larger tires than stock which reduces power.
