Lotus Celebrates 20 Years of Exige with a Special Anniversary Edition

This includes three exterior colors that are retro-inspired.

Lotus introduced the Exige Series 1 back at 2000. Lotus celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Exige Series 1’s debut twenty years ago by introducing a special edition model. British sports car manufacturer Lotus is celebrating the launch of the vehicle with a series of improvements inside and outside that pay tribute its predecessors.

The Exige 20th Anniversary is available in a palette of retro-inspired colors, including Chrome Orange, Laser Blue and Calypso Red. Saffron Yellow and Arctic Silver are also available. The body-colored roof, side intakes and rear wings are all throwbacks. The rear wheels are protected by the stone chip protector in shark-fin shape.

Lotus has added a few touches to the Exige, just like other special edition models by other automakers. This includes a silhouette of the Series 1 fender above the 410 badge, and a distinctive “20” logo on rear wing endplates. It is also visible on the rear bumper.

Inside, the silhouette is displayed on the seat backs alongside a “20” and DAB digital audio with Bluetooth. The 20th Anniversary models get lots of optional kit: DAB digital sound with Bluetooth, cruise control, DAB digital audio, DAB digital audio, Bluetooth, cruise control, Alcantara steering wheels, and lightweight forged alloy allow wheels. You can choose from carbon fiber sill trim and a lightweight lithium-ion or titanium exhaust.

Upgraded visuals do not translate into improved performance. The Exige Sport 410 is powered by a supercharged 3.5 liter V8 that produces 410 horsepower (305 kilowatts), and 310 pound-feet (402 Newton-meters). The six-speed manual gearbox is close-ratio and it pairs well with the engine. The standard Nitron three-way adjustable dampers are available in both bump and rebound settings. This allows drivers to customize the car for various purposes such as street driving or track racing.

Lotus offers the Exige Sport 410 20th Anniversary Edition at PS79,900. This includes PS5,412 worth extras over the standard sports car. The cars will be available in selected international markets by the end of this year.
