Lotus Esprit Successor Spotted For The First Times

It is expected to arrive in the first quarter of next year.

Lotus hinted at an Esprit successor 10 years ago at the Paris Motor Show 2010. The car didn’t come along, so we waited and waited. Over the last decade, ownership changed and the Lotus lineup didn’t expand as planned. However, 2020 is a new decade and Lotus appears to be following through on that plan. The successor to the esprit is being developed, according to spy photos. However, it’s hard for us not see.

These photos show a Lotus Evora. However, it has been widened. Although the Esprit will still use the same underpinnings as the long-rumored model, they will be modified. Most of the information we have about the car’s upcoming arrival comes from rumors, gossip, and very little official news . It is expected to arrive in 2021. However, it could not use the Esprit name. Lotus could choose something else.

Lotus teased the design concept for the first time in 2010. It featured a Toyota-sourced, 5.0-liter V8 motor. The Esprit R produced 550 horsepower (410 kW) and the base model was expected to produce 500 horsepower (373 Kilowatts). However, the powertrain landscape has changed dramatically since then. According to new rumors, Lotus will continue to be the powertrain choice.

Toyota It will use the Japanese automaker’s 3.5-liter V6 engine instead. Then it will electrify the engine. It is expected that the hybrid powertrain will still produce approximately 500 hp, more than the 400 hp (298 kW), offered by the Evora 410.

Rumours suggest that the Esprit, or whatever Lotus calls the car, will be a mid engine two-seater with plenty of storage space. This makes it more user-friendly than other Lotus models. The Esprit will also be compliant with North American and Chinese regulations. This should increase its appeal and hopefully sales. The Esprit will be revealed by Lotus in the next few months.
