The reveal will take place in a week.
The teaser ends with a silhouette showing the sleek profile of the crossover, which reveals the greenhouse and other styling elements. It also announces the car’s unveil time at 7:30 p.m. GMT (2:30 p.m. ET) so plan accordingly.
The teaser does not reveal any new information. The patent photos took the wind out of Lotus’ sails and revealed much about the crossover’s design. This profile is very similar to the current Nissan Murano’s, particularly with the floating roof at the back and the fenderkink at its rear. The Type 132 is a sharper model. The greenhouse is wider and the hood appears flatter.
The crossover can accommodate 120 kilowatts battery packs. These batteries will be paired to a dual motor setup that can deliver 600-700 horsepower (447-521 Kilowatts). It will also be required by the crossover, which could weigh more than 2,000 kilograms (4.409 pounds).
This Lotus teaser is the latest to be released. It reveals many details about the Type 132’s design, but patent images filled in the gaps. As part of the aero package, the crossover’s front end will feature active aero bits as well as hood air conduits. In the latest teaser, the patent revealed that the crossover will feature side-mirror cameras. They won’t be allowed everywhere so Lotus will likely offer them with traditional side mirrors.
Although the rear end looks less aggressive than the front, it still has a sporty look. Recessed lighting sits above an angular diffuser. Patent images showed the crossover in a four-seat configuration. However, the interior could accommodate five people. Next week will see the official unveiling of the new model.
