Two of the most iconic Ferraris have graced our T.V. Two of the most iconic Ferraris to grace our T.V. screens are going up for auction in the late 1980s. We’ve already shown you the 86 Testarossa from Miami Vice which will be the centerpiece of Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale auction. The 1984 308 GTS Quadrovole from Magnum P.I. is now available. Bonhams Scottsdale sale will also see the block cross.

T.V. This lovely 308 GTS, which was once famous for Tom Selleck’s mustache and driving behind it, has only had two documented owners since its new purchase. It still has the original 3.0-liter V8 engine, which is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. It produces 232 horsepower (173 megawatts). It was one of three Ferrari 308s that were used at the show, from 1980 to 1988.

The car was then taken by Ferrari, where it was repainted and maintained. The car was then sold to Walnut Creek, California’s first true owner. It was later sold again to the current consignor in 1989. It has only 36,000 miles (57.936 kilometers) on its odometer today, which means that it was used primarily for close-ups during most of its television career.

Original Rosso Corsa red exterior finish has been retained, and the original leather interior has had its correct shade of tan dyed. Tubi has replaced the stock exhaust and the car received a major service costing $5,000 less than 2,000 miles (3.218 km).

It is in impeccable condition, celebrities aside. It will be auctioned in Scottsdale during the Bonhams sale that began on January 19, 2017. It could fetch anywhere from $150,000 to $250,000 (PS120,000-210,000).
