Man Fuses Chevy Truck and Boat into Giant Street-Legal Land Shark

Attach the boat shell to the pickup’s hydraulic dumpbed.

Let’s be real, friends. There have been many strange things. The pickup truck body was mountedbackwards on its chassis. The UFO on the highway? The crazy car title may still be held by the Lada. But you know what? The shark truck could be in the top five.

It’s a shark truck. It could also be a truckboat. Or a yacht. This thing is both bizarre and imaginative, no matter what you call it. Kurt, a Woodstock, Georgia native, is the one who came up with this idea. Although we don’t know what’s in the area’s water, we can tell you what doesn’t. This is an older boat of 24 feet that was leaking fuel and found its way into Kurt’s shop. Kurt also found a 1990 Chevy 3500 pickup with hydraulic dump beds and an inoperable engine. This is probably obvious.

Let’s not let the General Motors fanatics jump in the comments and claim that this is a GMC. Let’s just give the shark owner the benefit. The video does show the truck before modifications were made, but it could be a modified grille. The truck is shown with Chevrolet wheels and a Chevy badge on its door. However, none of this matters. The real point is that the combination of a non-functional boat with a barely-functional truck makes it the ultimate road-going tribute Jaws.

Kurt did the entire conversion and it’s more than meets the eyes as shown in the video. The entire shell can be lifted up to access and exit by being mounted on the dump bed. Kurt created a custom floor and filled in the gaps between the fenders. To match the position of the windshield behind the boat, the pedals needed to be extended. Although the front suspension was lowered by three inches, visibility is still poor. The custom dash has four exterior cameras that are connected to one screen, giving unobstructed views from all angles.

This 24-foot-long land shark still has boat-style seating at its back for several adults. Although the seating position is quite high, there are no seat belts. Kurt instead created a large lap bar that slides down like a roller coaster. We don’t know if it was intended or not. We suspect that riding on the back of this vehicle at speed could produce a similar feeling of adrenaline and impending doom.

Kurt claims that he drives the shark truck quite frequently in the video. However, we are skeptical about the narration, which says it’s a daily driver. This rig is a magnet for attention everywhere it goes. We are certain of that.
