Porsche customers now have the option to purchase this product.
Many people won’t recognize the Manthey Racing name. It might not surprise that the company is so obscure, since it has mostly let its results speak for itself on the track. What is it that makes the GT3 RS’s latest version so special?
It’d be difficult to begin without mentioning the brand’s GT2 RS record. The upgraded GT3 RS has very similar modifications. The car gets a complete aero upgrade, including a front splitter, rear diffuser and reinforced deck-lid. Flaps are also added to the front fascia. Manthey has elevated the standard car’s aero kit to an even more aggressive level.
Olaf Manthey founded the company in 1996. Although the company’s main focus is Porsche racing cars it also works on road-legal German automobiles. They seem to have the Green Hell’s Rosetta Stone, winning six races at the 24 Hours of Nurburgring. These wins are part of the reason why the company is the most successful Porsche racing group worldwide.
The aerodynamics department got a major upgrade to standard, but the suspension setup on MR GT3 RS has a lot more. This car features the same adjustable coilover suspension as the Porsche GT3 R racecars. Although adjustable suspension is not new, Manthey can still use its track knowledge with the help of the racing-specification dampers.
Some modifications sound complicated, but others are simple. Brakes are equipped with braided brake lines, and MR spec pads. New magnesium wheels are available with optional carbon-fiber aero discs for rear set.
For perspective, the GT2 RS that the company had modified seven seconds faster than the standard car on the Nürnbergring Nordschleife. Although Kevin Estre, Porsche factory driver, has been seen giving taxi rides to fans in the GT3 RS MR, an official lap has not been recorded.
We’d love to see the test center and office of the company located next to the Nurburgring Nordschleife.
