Maserati GranTurismo Folgore Appears In Formula E Announcement

It will be fully available next year.

Maserati will debut its Formula E debut in the Season 9 all-electric competition. The Italian automaker also announced a multi-year partnership agreement with ROKit Venturi Racing. It’s exciting to see Maserati join Formula E. However, the official press release about the new partnership included something more. The GranTurismo Folgore is featured in the press image.

Maserati hopes to be fully electric by 2030. The model will play an important role in this goal. When it launches next year, it will be the brand’s first electric production vehicle. We have already seen teaser images hinting about its design, but now we have a photo showing an actual car sat next to Davide Grasso (CEO of Maserati) and Scott Swid (CEO of ROKit Venturi Racing).

The attached image shows that this is not the final production version for the electric Maserati. Although the body and lights appear to have been completed, there is still camouflage covering some of the front fascia. From what we can see, the camouflage foil in thin blue is covering the contour of the shoulder line between the rear fenders. The GranTurismo Folgore is already a great looking electric vehicle. However, we will reserve final judgement until the end of one year, when all body camouflage will be removed.

Maserati has big tech promises regarding the zero-emission coupe. The car will be able to ride on a new platform, and it will be powered with three electric motors. The car’s most powerful configuration will deliver more than 1,200 horsepower (883kilowatts) to all four wheels. The automaker claims that the sprint from 0-60 mph (0-100 km/h) should take less than three seconds and the maximum speed should be around 193 mph (306 km/h). A low-mounted 800-volt battery pack will provide electric power.

Maserati has announced a new partnership with ROKit Venturi Racing. It will help the brand’s return in motorsport with its “determination, desire, and desire to win on circuits around the world”. The new Gen3 car is the lightest, strongest, and fastest electric vehicle ever built.
