It is expected to debut in the next year.
Maserati countries to keep the next-generation GranTurismo under a camouflage wrap. Since we first saw the car with its own body panels, a few months back, it hasn’t lost any camouflage. A new set of spy photos from Walter Vayr on facebook shows that Maserati is serious about keeping the car’s design secret from anyone who might be interested.
Maserati can’t make the 2022 GranTurismo look like a GranTurismo, no matter what. The car’s curvy front and menacing rear haunches are not hidden by the camouflage. The slotted grille of Maserati is also clearly visible. The quad exhaust pipes at the rear are hidden under camouflaged taillights, and a stylish rear bumper. The rear window surrounds are still being distorted by the cladding.
New powertrains will join the GranTurismo in its new look. Although we don’t know the details, the company has a new V6 to power the and MC20. Rumours suggest that this could be the engine for the new GranTurismo. The Nettuno V6, which is a twin-turbocharged, 3.0-liter unit produces 621 horsepower (621 Kilowatts) as well as 538 pound-feet (729 Nms) of torque. It might not produce the same power if Maserati uses it with the GranTurismo.
Maserati stated that the GranTurismo will also be the brand’s first fully electric model. Although the GT is the first, there are many more models in the works. Rumours suggest that the high-performance MC Stradale trim could offer more than 600 hp (447 kW), so the company could use this nameplate for the all-electric version.
The 2022 Maserati GranTurismo will be available for purchase this year. Along with the coupe, the convertible GranCabrio will be available. We don’t anticipate the all-electric GranCabrio to arrive before next year. It will be the first of many EVs by the Italian luxury brand.
