A recent report claims that Maserati’s entry level sedan will be built on the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger.
Autocar reports that the model could be called Levante. It will use a modified version rear-wheel drive architecture from Chrysler. The model will share the same 3052mm wheelbase as the other sedans, and it will feature attractive styling that was created in-house.
According to the magazine, the 2013 Quattroporte rides on an enhanced version of the same platform. The model would measure in at approximately 5.2m (17ft) if all goes according to plan.
Although it might seem odd for Maserati to base their vehicles on a Chrysler product the Kubang Concept will be a rebadged Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The Levante could still be revealed at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, and possibly go on sale in the early part of 2014.
