Mazda MX-30 EV could cost just under $24,000 with incentives

MX-30’s most striking feature is its price.

Although there are many problems with the Mazda MX-30 on paper, its price is not one of them. The estimates that the electric crossover could be purchased in California for $23,645 if they take advantage of all the incentives. The base MSRP of the model is $33,470, plus a $11,175 destination fee.

According to the math, the MX-30 is eligible in part for a $7.500 federal tax credit. California also offers a $2,000 Clean Vehicle Rebate as well as a $1500 Clean Fuel Reward. After taking out the destination fee, the $11,000 worth of incentives brings the price of an EV to $23,645

CarsDirect says that it is not clear if Mazda will pass on the $7,500 federal tax credit for people leasing the MX-30. Ford does the same to those leasing Mach-E.

California is the first market for the MX-30. The battery is 35.5-kilowatts per hour and provides a range of just 100 miles (161 km). It takes just 36 minutes to recharge 80 percent of the battery using a Level 3 charger, and 2 hours 50 minutes with a DC fast charger.
The EV is powered by a single front-mounted electric motor. It produces 143 horsepower (107 kilowatts) peak, and 109 hp (80.9 kW), continuously. It generates 200 pound-feet (271 Newton meters) of torque.

Mazda seems to be aware that range is a problem, so it allows owners to borrow any other Mazda vehicle for up to 10 consecutive days.
