McLaren’s MP4-12C GT3 has been updated. It includes a revised aerodynamics package and an upgraded ECU.
McLaren introduced the MP4-12C GT3 version.
The model will enter competition in the second half of this year. It features a revised aerodynamics package and upgraded ECU. Engineers also installed new dampers, and a more efficient cooling system. McLaren claims these improvements will improve the car’s reliability and efficiency.
The model was available only to European-based GT teams last year, but the new version is now available to international GT teams and collectors as well as non-race users. Clearwater Racing and Sebastien Leb Racing will use the model as part of this change.
The engine is a twin-turbo, 3.8-liter V8 that is connected to a 6-speed sequential transmission. The engine’s output has not been improved by the new ECU, which is subject to homologation rules. However, it produced 500 HP (368kW) last year.
The 2013 McLaren MP4-12C GT3 can be ordered now at PS325,000 (PS389 780 / $518 9,930).
