Although there aren’t many details, the MSO division is working on something.
McLaren has been very busy with the Speedtail launch and 720S conversion. Some intriguing Instagram posts hint that McLaren’s MSO customization unit is working on something new.
At this time, details about the BC03 remain a mystery. According to To The Super Car Blog, the design is based on McLaren Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo.
A poster on the McLaren Life forum suggests that MSO would construct five units of the BC03 according to another less credible rumor. The vehicle also uses a cutting-edge carbon fiber type.
It is not clear what degree of similarity the BC-03 has to the Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo idea. To create a supercar for Gran Turismo Sport, the company created the single-seat vehicle. The brand’s 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 was combined with electric motors to produce 1,150 horsepower (858 Kilowatts) & 940 pound-feet (1,275 Newton-meters). It weighed in at 2,204 pounds (1,099 kilograms). This was all done in a videogame, so McLaren could change the numbers as they liked without having to spend any engineering time.
The McLaren Ultimate Vision GT was made available to Gran Turismo Sport in an interesting coincidence on October 17, 2017. This leaked information about a production version drawing inspiration from this design is almost a full year later.
Amalgam has created a miniature, 24 inch (60 cm) long, 1:8-scale model of their Ultimate Vision GT concept (above). They are limited to 92 units and cost $8,324 per. Robert Melville, McLaren’s design director, helped to bring the machine to life. McLaren’s design director Robert Melville received one of the models, while Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yauchi received another.
